Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Waukesha, Wisconsin

By RetroRuth

This week we have a super fun little house that I have always been curious about. This house is in Tom’s hometown, and whenever we went back to Wisconsin to visit his folks we would drive past this house and I would always want to see inside!

And yes, it is tiny! Vintage tiny house!

This house is located at 608 N Grandview Blvd, Waukesha, Wisconsin. It has 1 bedroom and 1 bathrooms and is 500 square feet. It was built in 1932 and the listing price (I think) was $79,900. I think it was listed by Coldwell Banker, and I’m not sure if it’s still an active listing or not. You can see it on Zillow here. From the old listing:

This storybook property is so charming. Proposed kitchen area is 6’8” x 7’3”, bath would be 6’8” x 7’3”, living room 11’8” x 13’9” & upper bedroom 11’8” x 11’6”. Large closet area in upper as well. Presently open areas. Full wall natural masonry fireplace. Newer 200 amp electrical service. Beautiful exterior is cedar & stone. Newer windows in upper & lower living areas draw in natural light. Convenient side street for storage. Storage shed is included. The potential in this property is unreal & the price & taxes are really low. Convenient to restaurants & businesses. Loft bedroom could been finished off as well as adjacent closet sitting area. Small lawn to mow. This property should draw attention to your plans for finishing.

So…obviously I would have liked to see this place before it was gutted. But still, I think it’s really fun to see inside this little gem. And even down to the studs there is still an amazing amount of stone in this house. And I love the fireplace!
