Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Murray, Utah

By RetroRuth

This week we have all the gorgeous wood!

This home is located at 6007 S 200 E, Murray, Utah. It has four bedrooms and three baths with approximately 2200 square feet. It was built in 1960 and the asking price is $400,000. It is listed by cityhome Collective, and you can see the listing on Zillow here. From the listing:

You KNOW how excited we get about mid-century modern homes, right? Add to that excitement the thrill of actually putting one on the market and finding the perfect owner for it. Yes, yes. Count us officially jazzed… AS O.G. AS THEY COME, THIS ONE. CERTIFIABLE. And it’s been kept in pristine condition, to boot. All of those decidedly retro and highly desired elements in a home of this era are as in tact as you might dream they’d be. Wood paneling, the flooring, built-in cabinetry, globe lighting, and massive picture windows. All here. All accounted for and safe. The space lays out perfectly: a large, open room upon entrance with an upward-soaring ceiling and raised dining act as something of a “welcome home” chorus. The full-height basement is vast, but there’s also plenty of natural light to fill the space. Company, movies, Twister tourneys, ping pong…it all looks good down here. IT’S NESTLED AT THE TAIL-END OF A COZY, TREE-LINED STREET. A home in the city doesn’t often get more secluded than this. Privacy? Yes. Isolation? No way. Quick freeway access lends itself to an easy-enough trip to wherever you need to go (but Intermountain Health Care and Fashion Place Mall are just around the corner). Add to all that a plethora of storage in the form of two sheds and one stellar workshop (complete with power, heat, and insulation), and you’ll want for nothing but easy living.

So, what do you think?  I am really into this house! I love all the wood, the vintage appliances and all of the built-ins!

Outstanding condition. Previous owners obviously loved this home. The large wood panels in the living areas are immaculate. Now about that yard…

So glad they didn’t redo the kitchen and bathrooms. Lovely home.

It is a great house. Again, I could move right in and be very happy. I would like to find a refrigerator that better fits the space. The current one sits out so far into the room.

I agree, and I often wonder why people don’t buy counter-width models.
