Thursday Edition…….Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Norwood, Massachusetts

By Sara In AZ

Loyal Blog reader and my friend,  Susan (in Boston),  recently came across this mid century home for sale and I just knew I HAD to share it with y’all!! Don’t worry everyone, Ruth will still have your regular WYBMN installment this Sunday, but for now….sit a spell and enjoy this lovely home in Massachusetts.

This home is located at 92 Union Street in Norwood, Massachusetts. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms and it is approximately 1952 square feet. It was built in 1957 and the asking price is $490,000. It is listed by Paul Keady at ReMax, – you can see the listing here.  From the listing:

Very nice and spacious 4 bedroom straight ranch with 2 car garage. The inside of this home was just completely painted as well as all the hardwood floors beautifully refinished. Open kitchen with new floor leads into a large dining room. Over sized fire placed living room with charming built ins. Two full baths. Two car garage with direct access to house. Relaxing family room off kitchen. Huge basement with additional fireplace. This home sits on beautiful acre + lot. This is a tough to find large straight ranch with a 2 car garage. Some updates needed but a great value for the price.

This room appears to be the family room off the back of the house, it looks like the original paneling has been painted. Sad smile

So what do you think? I adore that pink bathroom and all that wood flooring is stunning. I personally love the wood paneling in the basement and all the cute valences above the windows…..so this house is right up my alley, I think it’s gorgeous!

Hi Sara! Thanks for posting this listing. I agree with you. I love the pink bathroom and the wood paneling. I wish I could buy this house but it is waaaaaaaaaaay out of my price range. 🙂

Way overpriced, and it’s sad to see that people have painted over the knotty pine paneling. I really like the cornices above the windows, and the built-in casework in the LR is really nice.

@BobinAlabama: Sadly, that is what houses sell for here in Mass. I live in Massachusetts, about 35 minutes south of Boston. I used to live down the street from this house before I moved. Sadly, the price of houses here in Massachusetts, especially houses close to Boston are expensive. I purchased my house 6 years ago for $210,000, it is now worth $340,000. It’s crazy! I mean, I’m glad my house is worth more but it’s just crazy how 6 years ago, my neighborhood sold in the low two hundred thousands, now it’s in the 3s.
