Del Webb Sun Cities Museum House Tour in Sun City, Arizona Part 2

By Sara In AZ

Today we are continuing on with our field trip tour of the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum House! And now we get to check out the bathroom and kitchen! YAY!!!

Starting off on the bathroom first! Pink tile alert!

Ahhhhh, love that vintage mosaic tile!

I meant to ask if the vanity was original, but unfortunately I forgot. I am honestly not sure. I know it was not typical to use mosaic for counters, so this could have been done after the house was built…for sure the sink is newer though. At any rate I think it looks pretty cool!

The original taps in the shower/bath area.

Love this vintage Kohler faucet!

All of the cute pink bathroom accessories were so neat!

And now the kitchen!

Just an FYI – the area to the back used to be a covered patio and was enclosed by the MacDonald’s to add on another bedroom and bathroom, the museum later removed that bedroom and bathroom and converted it into exhibit space.

Huzzah! This kitchen has a nice large footprint, I can just picture it with the patio door in place…so light and bright!

Its just such an adorable kitchen though…..the pink tile….swoon!

The dining area. What do you want to bet there was originally a pink stove there?!??

Ummmm, honestly…..totally in love with that fridge!

And it was still working and in use! Do you think they’d notice if it disappeared lol!?!

Really loving all of the display items, they are such a great addition.

Ha! I kept on thinking the cardboard cut out lady was real!

Cute pink leaf decorative tiles.

They are killing it with all of the pink accessories!

Cool old Goettl vent fan in the ceiling!

I so adore everything on this rack …..especially those pink canisters!

Gotta love the Pyrex!

Close-up of the dining area.

Well, I hope that everyone enjoyed the field trip, it certainly was fun to tour this home. The Museum is run by volunteers and I could tell that everyone really loves their job – they were all a blast to talk to and very knowledgeable about the house and area in general. If you are ever in the Sun City area definitely try to stop by the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum House!

If I ever make a trip back home, that museum will be my first stop even with the suitcases still in the trunk. I am drooling over that refrigerator, where on earth did they find a working fridge of that era? It seems when you do find them they are the 1940’s ones like mine, not the fifties bathing beauties like that one. As far as the sink and tiled countertop, are you sure that isn’t original? I would love to find out. So gorgeous!

I know Jacki……that fridge…….its SO fabulous!!!! I really, really do think everything in the house was donated…though I cannot be 100% sure…everything was decorated beautifully though. Gah, I know…I messed up forgetting to ask about the counters in the bathroom. I am pretty sure the sink was a replacement as it had that more acrylic feel to it. Definitely go visit the museum if you ever get back here…and if you do, be sure to ask about the bathroom counters lol! 🙂
