Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Palm Springs, California

By MidModMichelle

FOLKS, say hello to this Palm Springs Wexler hitting the market in El Rancho Vista Estates!! It was also just featured on the 2017 Modernism Week Home Tour. When you compare the price of this one at half a mill to last week’s home at 2.5 mill it’s crazy right?! I’m always surprised that Palm Springs is still affordable, relatively speaking. The kitchen was updated but done well, and there are no bathroom photos so that will remain a mystery. Still, I’m all in on this one! Let’s check it out!

This home is located at 3150 E Camino Rojos, Palm Springs, California on a nice lot in El Rancho Vista Estates. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,745 square foot home built in 1959 that is being offered at $569,000. The listing is courtesy of Randy Roy at Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate. For more information and additional photos you can check out the listing here. From the listing:

1959 Donald Wexler in El Rancho Vista Estates fresh from the 2017 Modernism Week Home Tour. A beautiful, expanded and upgraded butterfly Bermuda floorplan with recent improvements. Fireplace, architectural concrete blocks, clerestory windows and a thoughtful compliment of custom colors, textures and materials. BONUS: Den, media room or office. HUGE lot 16,117 SF and over 1,700 SF of super-cool retro living space. Desert landscaping and 2 car garage. These are rarely available, don’t miss!

KITCHEN & DINING ROOM

(I’ll admit I’m not much of a fan of farmhouse sinks, but they are big and functional. To each their own!)

(Dining room inspiration!)

BEDROOM

BACKYARD & POOL

(😍😍😍😍)

Comparatively, last week’s home was stunning but also felt more formal to me. This week’s home is hip and FUN. Like, they-throw-really-great-cocktail-parties-where-someone’s-ending up-in-the-pool-fully-dressed fun. I love their bold use of color in paint, wallpaper, art and furniture. And I am TOTALLY on board with the Moai hiding in the bushes.

I’d want to put some AstroTurf in the back yard and swap the ceramic sink for a sleek stainless steel apron front, then I’d be good to enjoy paradise forever there.

Astro turf or any artificial grass can become brutally hot. It wouldn’t work well in a climate like Palm Springs.

Yes, the sculpture in the hedge is perfection.
