Retro Planner Series – Butter!

Time for more planning. This week I added something fun: A decoupaged journaling card for my planner!

Since Alex has started pre-school (Hooray!), I’ve wanted to add in some more pictures every week, and I need room for ticket stubs and little memory things like that, so this fun card is blank on the back and Alex and I will collage some stuff onto it at the end of the week.

Here is the full layout. I’ve switched over to the Happy Planner because my old planner, while lovely, didn’t have enough room in it for me to write all the crap we have to do during the week.  I was previously using two planners and a to-do list. Now I can cram all of my plans into one space. The Happy Planner is also great because I can punch extra stuff like the journaling card and Alex’s pre-school stuff (which is the purple folder you can see on the edge over there) and just jam them in where they fit in my planning. Highly, highly recommend this planner if you are a huge planning nerd like me.

Here’s the layout without the card. Notice the lack of decoration. I seriously need all that room to write in. I should post a pic of this thing after my week is over.

Aaaaanyways, enough nerding out. Two of my favorite parts of this are that I got to use my vintage food die cuts that I’ve been collecting for years. This little pat of butter on a green dish was the inspiration for this layout!

I also got to sift through my huge digital library of scanned vintage foodstuffs and print out copies of my butter ephemera. Yes, all these are copies. No, I do not cut up my vintage cookbook collection. Never, never! I am also pleased that this ended up being fall-ish colored, which was completely unintentional!

Thin orange washi was part of an assortment I purchased cheap on Ebay.

Days of the week washi is also from zakkalover on Etsy.

Butter Deco Elements:

Food die cuts are a little hard to find, but you can see some here on Etsy.

Vintage food ad scans from my collection.

Pancake and breakfast stickers from one of my favorite designers, October Afternoon. From their set Saturday Morning.

Journaling cardstock from an old paper pad, The Mod-Retro Stack by DCWV.

My Happy Planner is from Michaels, but you can get them at Joann’s and Hobby Lobby as well!

The number stamps that I used for the numbers at the top are also from Michaels.Affiliate Links

Super cute, Ruth! Wow, how can Alex be old enough for preschool? Boy, time flies and she’s not even my kid! 🙂

That is so adorable! I always start out with the best intentions to use planners and then drop off for some reason. Maybe if I made a cute one like that I’d stick with it! 🙂
